Description
1910 E93 Standard Caramel Christy Mathewson PSA EX-MT 6. This was one of the most dominant pitchers of his era. Christy Mathewson looked like the classic American hero: tall, blond, and blue-eyed, with a reputation for clean living and good sportsmanship that was often held up as a splendid example for the nation's youth. While those virtues were surely exaggerated, his pitching skills were not. He retired with 372 wins (fourth all-time), 78 shutouts (third), and a 2.13 ERA (fifth). Near perfect centering and a colorized image that is lifelike of this first year Hall of Fame Inductee. The now iconic pose of Mathewson is centered to the right which seems to be the main element directing the PSA rating. Colors have remained deep and rich, corners show modest tip wear.
