1910 E104-1 Nadja Caramels Eddie Plank SGC 40 VG 3. The T206 Eddie Plank is frequently compared to the famed Honus Wagner of the same issue due to its rarity and monetary value which makes obtaining even a battered example well out of the financial reach of most. As is the case with the T206 Wagner, there is a sugar based alternative. The undisputed key to the 18-card E104-1 Nadja Caramels series which showcases players from the Philadelphia Athletics of 1910 is their lefty ace hurler, and future Hall of Famer, Eddie Plank. This Plank portrait is derived from the same Carl Horner image used for the T206 version and almost with a sense of mockery utilizes an all too familiar blue background. Graded SGC 40 VG 3, this copy has but one example grading higher. This example has a slightly angular cut, some rounding of the corners and one light crease. The blank reverse shows the outline of an ancient water stain. How difficult is it going to be to pass on the opportunity to fill a "monster" sized gap in any Plank-less T206 collection with this relatively affordable solution. Attractive Very Good condition.
