Description

1910-11 M116 Sporting Life Cy Young SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. Cy Young's 511 career wins are nearly 100 more than any other pitcher that has ever played the game. It is a benchmark for excellence that will likely never be approached, let alone overtaken. The source of his M116 portrait is the same widely recognized portrait of photographer Carl Horner. Mr. Young's regal depiction is very nicely centered with muted colors by design. Overall, the quality is immediately seen with the light wear at a pair of corners accounting for the grade. The boldly printed back is the "Blue Ink" variety. There is only one example at this grade level with three higher (all a mere half-grade step up to 80 EX/NM 6).
