Description

1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson PSA Good 2. Hall of Famer Walter Johnson was a dominating righthander who earned the nickname "The Big Train" because very few hitters could ever catch up to his blazing fastball. It kept coming and they kept swinging, and missing. Over his 21-year career with the Washington Senators, he posted more than 400 victories and struck out a mind-boggling 3,509 batters. For good measure, the 6' 1" hurler even registered a league-best 110 shutouts, and his lifetime ERA was an eye-popping 2.17. To no one's surprise, he was inducted into Cooperstown as part of its inaugural 1936 class.

Presented is a highly desirable card featuring Johnson from the condition-sensitive 1909 T204 Ramly Cigarettes release. It's a collection of cards that's very popular among seasoned collectors because of the beautiful, gold-embossed frames that surround each of the portrait photos showcasing the individual players. The T204 Ramly is also considered Johnson's rookie card, which makes his the key card in the entire 121-card set. The offered example offers a clean black-and-white photo of Johnson with the surrounding gold border revealing some signs of chipping and wear. Overall, however, this is a coveted, sought-after card of one of MLB's best pitchers in history. Graded PSA Good 2.
