1909 T204 Ramly Jesse C. Burkett (Oval Frame) PSA VG 3. Widely regarded as one of the most elegant and artistically distinctive tobacco issues of the early 20th century, the T204 Ramly set has long been a favorite among advanced collectors. Issued in 1909 by the Ramly Cigarettes brand (T.T.T. or Turkish Trophy), the set features 121 subjects framed in ornate gold filigree borders with detailed black-and-white portrait photography. Completing the full set is a daunting challenge, and assembling it in elite condition is nearly impossible-until now.Presented is a 1909 T204 Ramly Turkish card of rarely encountered Hall of Famer Jesse C. Burkett, a left fielder whose playing career in the Majors spanned from 1890 to 1905. He later became a manager for the New England League's Worcester Busters from 1906 to 1915. The presented "Oval Frame" example stands as one of a few cards on which Burkett appears on from his professional career. Graded PSA VG 3. Of the thirty-six examples found in the PSA Pop Report, this is one of five cards graded VG with eighteen rated higher.
