    1909 S74 Silks - White Turkey Red Ty Cobb SGC 60 EX 5. Extremely fragile and very obviously not in great supply, S74 silks from the 1909-11 era can be found in both white or color silk and different colors of printing. Advertising the same brands of tobacco seen on insert cards of the time, subjects included baseball players and actresses. Offered is a fresh to the hobby S74 printed in blue of baseball legend Ty Cobb with a Turkey Red Cigarettes paper ad. The fragile, approx. 1-7/8 x 3-1/2" silk has been graded SGC 60 EX 5. There is a horizontal wrinkle across the center. Very clean and bright, the silk shows almost none of the fraying so commonly seen along the top and bottom edges that seem to be a natural occurrence with this issue this issue. The SGC census shows 15 Turkey Red & unspecified brand white silks of Cobb - this is the highest graded example of them all!
