Description

1909 S74 Silks-White Mordecai Brown (Turkey Red) SGC VG-EX 4. Mordecai Brown earned his nickname "Three Finger" due to a farm machinery accident in his youth that left him with only three fingers on his pitching hand. Ironically, this physical anomaly helped him create pitches with unusual movement baffling batters and putting Brown in the Hall of Fame. Brown is a notable entry in the 1909 S74 baseball silks - White set, a series celebrated for their beautiful visual appeal and delicate nature. This example has an original Turkey Red brand backing slip. Graded SGC VG-EX 4.
