1909-11 T206 Uzit Sam Crawford, With Bat SGC 40 VG 3. "Wahoo Sam" Crawford was the star of the Detroit Tigers when a young talent made the team named Ty Cobb. Cobb would become the center of attention at the time but Crawford is widely remembered for being one of the greatest hitters of that era, and with good reason. Despite their differences, dead-ball era pitchers facing the Cobb-Crawford one-two punch must have felt like facing Ruth then Gehrig to the next generation of pitchers. This very scarce T206 of Sam Crawford in his "With Bat" variety at first seems like your typical SGC 40 VG 3 example until one marvels at the cool blue ink of the rare "Uzit, The New Mouth-Piece Cigarettes" reverse. This is the perfect accompaniment to the T206 Uzit Hughie Jennings offered elsewhere in this auction.
