    Description

1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal Ty Cobb (Portrait-Green) SGC EX/NM+ 6.5. Who doesn't appreciate the scarcer "Green portrait" version of the iconic Ty Cobb appearances that contribute much toward the passionate pursuit of T206s. A nice mid-grade example, the image close being both perfectly centered and rendered. Surfaces are free of any soiling or staining, colors are vivid. A gentle rounding of the corners accounts for the points passed resulting in a solid mid-grade+ example with no unanticipated flaws or abatements. With high-grade examples of this card reaching startling new heights that now can have six digits, solid mid-grade examples show promising investment potential or the investor or hobbyist in need of an exciting addition of this classic (and scarcer) T206 Cobb to your collection. The reverse displays a "Sweet Caporal - 150 Subjects" with a factory 30 caption with the same high-quality surface and lack of print imperfections as he obverse. A very sharp copy with an attention grabbing and precisely registered portrait. Graded SGC EX-NM+ 6.5.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
