    Description

1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal-649 Overprint Napoleon Lajoie (Throwing) PSA NM 7. Napoleon Lajoie was one of Cleveland's most beloved figures, so popular in his day that the ball club was nicknamed the "Naps" in his honor. The team would take on its current "Indians" designation only upon his departure in 1915. The turn-of-the-century hero was renowned for being among the finest ballplayers both on and off the field. Lajoie's talents were at the top of the sport earning him elite status with others of his day such as Young, Mathewson, Johnson, Wagner and Cobb. Graded PSA NM 7. There are hundreds of cards confirmed with Sweet Caporal backs. There are just twenty confirmed with the factory 649 overprint. This is the lone card in NM with one graded higher of confirmed overprints.
