1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal 350-460/42OP Walter Johnson (Hands at Chest) PSA NM/MT 8 - Pop One, None for Here is a chance to obtain a scarce variant card which is also the highest PSA graded with the Factory 42 Overprint back.

Walter Johnson, an inaugural Hall of Famer, won 417 Major League games, second only to Cy Young. A career like Walter Johnson's can only happen when amazing God-given ability meets perfect opportunity. Johnson grew up on a struggling farm in Kansas, but all the hard farm work built up a muscular body that eventually reached 6'1" and 200 lb. When Johnson's parents took the family to Olinda, California in 1902 to seek work, Johnson,14, who hadn't really played baseball, settled into a baseball hotbed in which baseball was played year-round. In a few years, he was playing semi-professional baseball in the winters against teams that had professional players. The Big Train believed his talent was God-given, "... when I threw it, ball, hand and wrist, and arm and shoulder and back all seemed to work together." Johnson played all of his 21 seasons with the Washington Senators, winning 20 games 12 times, throwing an all-time record 110 shutouts, striking out 3,509, winning the deciding game of the 1924 World Series in relief, and winning the his second AL MVP that year.

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. PSA has graded over 975 "Hands at Chest" cards, but only 10 confirmed with this brand/series/factory overprint combination. Beautifully colored and precisely centered. Our offered card holds "Pop One with None Higher" status.
