1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal 350/30 Tris Speaker PSA EX 5 - A Scarce Brand & Factory Combination. It was a legendary career that almost never happened. Tris Speaker badly damaged his left arm in a college football injury that doctors initially suggested amputation. But Speaker recovered to become one of the greatest hitters the game has ever known, maintaining to this day the career record for doubles, and top ten positions in average, hits and triples. He was properly honored as a member of the Hall of Fame's inaugural induction class and remains one of the most sought-after figures in pre-war baseball collecting.The Grey Eagle was just a rookie when the T206 set debuted and wears the uniform of the Boston Red Sox here against an impossibly blue background of sky. Surfaces are remarkably clean and corners crisp. The reverse displays "Sweet Caporal - 350 Subjects" ad with a factory 30 caption. Graded PSA EX 5. There have been over one-thousand cards submitted to PSA but only eighty are confirmed with tis brand/series/factory combination. This is one of just two graded EX with six rated higher.
