Description

1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal 350/25 Ty Cobb (Portrait - Green) PSA EX 5. T206 cards with a green background stand out because of their deep color, but one stands out above the others- Ty Cobb. Cobb, famously known as "The Georgia Peach," is a baseball icon who played most of his 24-season career with the Detroit Tigers. Cobb was a force to be reckoned with on the field, known for his aggressive playing style and exceptional batting skills. About himself and his famous attitude, Cobb said, "I never could stand losing. Second place didn't interest me. I had a fire in my belly."

Presented is a 1909-11 T206 White Border card with a "Sweet Caporal - 350 Subjects" ad and factory 25 caption featuring a portrait of Ty Cobb against a green background. The card portrays Cobb in a dignified pose, his intense gaze reflecting his determination and competitiveness. The green backdrop enhances Cobb's portrait, making this a memorable pose within the historic set. It is difficult to envision a more appropriate representation of baseball's Deadball Era than Cobb wearing the Detroit flannels with the Old English "D" upon the chest.

Graded PSA EX 5. The card's classic status, brand/factory rarity, combined with Cobb's legendary status, adds to the card's appeal and value, making it a highly sought-after collectible for sports memorabilia enthusiasts. From a total population that is about to reach the one thousand, one hundred level, only eighteen cards are confirmed with this ad back/factory combination. This is the only card graded EX, with three rated higher.
