Description

1909-11 T206 Sovereign 150 Vic Willis (Portrait) PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop Five, None Higher! Victor Gazaway Willis was a star on the mound who racked up 249 wins during a career that ended in 1910 when he was just 34 years old. His debut in 1898 was a smashing success as "Vic" posted a 25-13 W-L record for the Boston faithful. This is one of three T206 cards he is featured on and the only one that circulated before the 1910 season as he is still pictured with the Pittsburgh Pirates - the 1909 World Champion - Pittsburgh Pirates. His finely detailed portrait is immaculate. The back displays a scarcer "Sovereign - 150 Subjects" advertising with a Factory 25 caption. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Counting all brands, this is one of five in NM-MT with none higher but "Pop One, None Higher!" with a Sovereign back.
