Description

1909-11 T206 Polar Bear Bill O'Hara (St. Louis) PSA EX 5 - Only Two Graded Higher. With 138 total specimens reviewed by PSA, O'Hara "St. Louis" ranks behind only "Magie" Doyle/NY Natl., Plank and Wager as the T206s with the lowest total population. A certified T206 scarcity from the comprehensive T-206 edition is centerfielder Bill O'Hara who is found with the same typical batting stance with a common "New York" team caption and this, the rare "St. Louis" National League variation. Similar to Ray Demmitt, O'Hara played his 1909 season for the N.Y. Giants but found himself with the St. Louis franchise for the 1910 season. We tip our hats to the production staff for keeping up on the recent trades but had they known O'Hara would appear a mere 9 games for the Cardinals and would never play again in the Majors they have just left well enough alone. This card is only presented with the "Polar Bear" brand reverse. The offered example has some light staining and all-too typical staining and is centered vertically to the bottom. There are no creases or wrinkles. Graded PSA EX 5. Overall a nice looking card for the grade and a fine example bringing T206 enthusiast one step closer to completion. There are four recorded examples on the PSA census at the EX level with two rated higher.
