Description
1909-11 T206 Piedmont Sherry Magee "Magie" Error PSA VG 3 - The Hobby's Most Famous Typo! The severely abridged print runs can be caused by force, like Honus Wagner personally putting a stop to his own appearance in the T206 set, or a simple mistake. In this case, the error is one of the most noted in all the hobby. Sherry Magee was a good player on the field who amassed over 2,000 hits and almost 1,200 RBIs during his career but the misspelling of his last name (caught and corrected very early) has made him a "Hall of Famer" in the card collecting hobby. Many of the most advanced collections of T206s are short this coveted "MAGIE" variation. The offered example has been graded PSA VG 3 and is a solid, mid-grade representation determined by a small spot surface scuff as seen on the left in the background, creases and obvious corner wear. Currently, there are only 220 total examples reviewed by PSA. The gently off-center portrait offers deep colors and tight registration. This is a huge step toward elevating your T206 collection to a level only a small percentage of hobbyists ever experience.
