Description

1909-11 T206 Piedmont 350 Chief Bender (Pitching-Trees In Back) PSA NM-MT 8.5 - Pop One, None Higher! Born in Crow Wing County, Minnesota to a German father and part-Chippewa mother, young Charles Bender rose up through the famous Carlisle Indian School to become one of the top aces of the Dead Ball Era. During the era of Connie Mack's fabled $100,000 Infield, Bender was a masterful craftsman at its center, recording four sub-2.00 ERA seasons and three World Championships. Ty Cobb called him the most intelligent pitcher he ever faced. Offered is his "Pitching-Trees In Background" and it is a stunner. You could not ask for a better combination of rich, deep colors, cleaner surfaces, crisp edges and high quality corners. The back displays "Piedmont - 350 Subjects" advertising with a Factory 25 caption. Graded PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. Counting all brands, this is a "Pop One-of-One With None Higher" title-holder!
