1909-11 T206 Piedmont 150 Johnny Evers (With Bat-Cubs on Shirt) PSA Mint 9 - Pop Two, None Higher! There were few Dead Ball infielders more skilled with the leather than this pivot man for the game's most famous double play combination. The slightly-built but temperamental Evers was nicknamed "The Crab" for the way he sidled up to grounders, cementing his place in baseball history. Evers had identical .350 World Series averages in 1907 and 1908, knocking in the winning run in the fifth and final game. Evers earned a trio of cards in the T206 series. His portrait card has taken on iconic status but it is this card - his "With Bat, Cubs on Shirt" pose that T206 enthusiasts have found to be the toughest of the Evers entries. That and the fact that this example is so exceptionally fresh looking, are what makes this offering so incredibly enticing.

Graded PSA Mint 9. How two cards survived so completely unharmed if not almost wholly untouched is beyond explanation. Physically, "mint" is the best description. It seems to have emerged just yesterday from a time machine, at which point it was delicately placed into its plastic holder for safe-keeping. Colors are so rich and saturated with the surrounding border so stark bright and white - at the same time - they stand in complete complement to each other and in contradiction leaving a third-dimensional appeal. The back displays "Piedmont - 150 Subjects" advertising with a Factory 25 caption as if it gives one any additional incentive to click that "Place Bid" button. Counting all brands, this is one of only two in MINT with none higher.
