Description

1909-11 T206 Piedmont 150 John McGraw (Finger In Air) PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop Two, Four Higher for Brand/Series. For many years John McGraw was the dominant figure in American baseball. He was an excellent player - certainly among the best ever to become a great manager - yet his success derived from more than athletic talent. He had a profound understanding of the game and was alert to all the opportunities each inning offered. "The main idea," he always said, "is to win." This is a beautifully preserved example of his "Finger In Air" pose. Unquestionable quality with a vibrant central image and an exceptionally clean border. Corners show either a mere trace of wear at an outer tip or are simply "mint." The reverse displays a "Piedmont - 150 Subjects" with a factory 25 caption. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. The overall total PSA pop is almost 700 submissions (w/any qualified). Overall, this card is one of eleven in NM-MT with six higher. Almost 300 have been confirmed with a Piedmont brand back but less than one hundred from series 150. One of only two graded NM-MT with four rated higher for brand/series.
