Description

1909-11 T206 Piedmont 150 Ed Walsh PSA NM-MT 8 - Only One Higher! One of the Dead Ball Era's premier hurlers, the big right-hander Walsh posted an eye-popping forty and fifteen record for the Chicago White Sox in 1908, drawing a bit of attention from the crosstown Cubs who were enjoying what would prove to be their last World Championship season for the century to come. When this card appeared Ed was coming off a 40-win 1908 season. Offered is a high-quality example of his classic "Portrait" card. Beautiful colors and a pair of "minty" corners. The back displays "Piedmont - 150 Subjects" advertising with a factory 25 caption. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Overall, this is one of nine in NM-MT with one (a lone 8.5) higher. Among cards confirmed with a Piedmont back, this is one of just three cards with one higher.
