    Only eight finer!

1909-11 T206 Piedmont 150/25 Ty Cobb Green Background PSA NM 7. It's a match made in heaven--the Dead Ball Era's greatest star and the Dead Ball Era's greatest trading card issue. While it's true that Cobb's superstar status established him as the most plentiful subject in the fabled T206 set, with four separate appearances, it's also true that this Green Background variant is the most elusive of that quartet. His Red Background card appears at more than double its volume in the PSA population.

Certainly it goes without saying that the air becomes more and more rarified the higher we climb the grading ladder, and just sixteen other examples share residence on the NM 7 rung. Look up, and you'll find just eight rising higher, to NM-MT 8. There are no Mint 9's or Gem Mint 10's.

So this impressive beauty is just about as good as it gets for the advanced collector, and be prepared if you want to do better--our last offering of a PSA 8 Green Back, in September 2018, commanded a winning bid of $360,000. And who knows when another opportunity will present itself anyhow?
