1909-11 T206 Old Mill Zack Wheat PSA NM 7 - The Finest of Only Three Confirmed Old Mill Backs! In our April 2020 auction it was confirmed that David Hall T206 collection would contain a number of rarities that would come as great surprises. When you think of T206 rarities the usual suspects are brands names like Uzit, Drum, Lenox, Broad Leaf or Hindu. That auction featured a Ty Cobb (Bat On Shoulder) card with an Old Mill brand back that was one of only four confirmed examples and it auctioned for $78,000.00! The rare "Old Mill" chase was on. As Old Mill is one of the few brands to feature the obscure players from the southern leagues one would assume those would be the likely culprits. No. Some of the rarest "Old Mill" backs are players we have become accustom to seeing in auction catalogs and dealer tables... like HoFer Zach Wheat. We find ourselves we another rarity that hides in plain sight and going woefully underappreciated and very easily overlooked. The title is not for hype.Graded PSA NM 7. Currently, PSA has graded over 650 examples but only three are confirmed with an Old Mill back! (The above mentioned Cobb was a pop four). This is the highest graded example of an obviously rare player/brand combination.
