Description
1909-11 T206 Lenox-Brown Hughie Jennings (One Hand Showing) SGC Authentic -- the Only SGC-Graded Example! Hugh Jennings excelled as a player and manager. With the Baltimore Orioles, the team won National League pennants in 1894, 1895 and 1896 with Jennings batting .401 in 1896. He then went on to make Brooklyn pennant winners in 1899 and 1900. Managing got in his blood from his days at Cornell University Law. He managed/coached the Detroit Tigers where, along with the help of Sam Crawford and a youngster named Cobb, the Tigers won the pennant in 1907, '08 and 1909. His whistling, wild dance moves, and shouts of "Ee-Yah" are now woven into the tapestry of the history. Jennings and baseball were a happy couple for the better part of 40 years. Offered is a virtually un-improvable example of his "One Hand Shows" T206 card. The back displays a scarce "El Principe De Gales" ad with a factory 17 caption. There are multiple crease as well as areas of surface loss on the reverse. Encapsulated SGC Authentic. This is the only confirmed example rated by SGC for the Lenox-Brown brand!Auction Info
