1908 Rose Company Postcard Sam McLean. It is a mystery why the 1908 Rose Company Postcard series is so rare today considering how extensive roster the set enjoys more than a century later. Offered is a a postcard of a player who spent 14 years in the minor league system but has remained in total obscurity - Sam McLean of the Springfield Ponies. From 1900 to 1914, Sam played for no less than a dozen teams - the Derby Angels, Bristol Woodchoppers, Springfield Ponies, Norwich Reds, Worcester Reds, Norwich Indians, Rochester Bronchos, Northampton Meadowlarks, Sioux City Indians, New Britain Perfectos, Waterbury Contenders and Waterbury Frolickers. This could quite possibly be a unique, one-of-a-kind item and a must-have for the Rose Postcard fan. Very-Good condition.Auction Info
