Description

1908-09 Rose Company Postcard Rube Waddell PSA VG-EX 4 - Only Two PSA Graded Examples. From the Rube Waddell family. This card features HoF pitcher Rube Waddell from his first year with the St. Louis Browns. Waddell is perhaps the flakiest and most undependable major league star of all time. He was known to show up drunk for games on a regular basis. His legendary manager Connie Mack once remarked, "The Rube has a two-million-dollar body and a two-cent head." Personal demons aside, Rube won 193 games over his career, was a key addition to their pennant winning 1905 team and retired with a 2.16 ERA. He became a member of baseball's elite in Cooperstown in 1946. There is some corner wear and light wrinkles in the upper left. Graded PSA VG-EX 4. This card is the highest graded of just two total submitted to PSA.
