1907 PC765-1 Dietsche Post Cards Ty Cobb (Fielding) PSA Good 2 - New to The Hobby. In 1907, the Detroit Tigers became the toast of the town by winning their first American League Pennant in the team's short history. As part of the celebration, there were multiple promotions, giveaways, etc. featuring the team and heroic players. Issued for the '07 World Series was a set of post cards produced by the Dietsche Postcard Company of Detroit. The set is not the easiest to take to completion because of this card. The young hitter from Georgia named Ty Cobb was honored twice, one card is a batting pose (naturally) and then there is the far more rare "Fielding" pose that for some reason was obviously pulled from circulation. Why? Was the extended glove and startled expression too much for Cobb? Was a second card an insult to other veteran players? In any condition, this variation is missing from most Dietsche collections. This is a very pleasing example with rich, deep inks. Graded PSA Good 2. This is one of only eight total cards reviewed by PSA!
