1907-1909 Novelty Cutlery Honus Wagner PSA EX+ 5.5 - Pop One, One Higher. The Novelty Cutlery series is a scarce 25-card promotion that managed to include no less than 15 future members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Of those names there are all-time greats like Lajoie, Speaker, Mathewson, Cobb and this man - Honus Wagner. What a fantastic image of Wagner about to add to his hits count. "Novelty Cutlery" is one of a number of post card editions that promoted an exciting era in baseball history. At least kids didn't have to hang out in front of the tobacco shop to acquire one of these cards. This series is so scarce there are still less than one-hundred (with qualified examples) noted on the PSA census for the entire set. Collectors are not shy about grading Honus Wagner cards and yet PSA has graded only four (w/one qualified).Graded PSA EX+ 5.5. This is the second finest example on record with PSA! The SGC census shows their finest example grading "Good." Although designed for the purpose of sending a message via the mail this relic is unused. Only some light wear at corners accounts for the PSA assessment. Post card collectors are a passionate class and we have a feeling there will be fierce competition for this highly coveted presentation. After 15 years and thousands of lots this is the first example Heritage Auctions has had the opportunity to present to our clients.
