Description

1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Christy Mathewson SGC 10 Poor 1. A new to the hobby find! The E107 Breisch-Williams issue was the first major baseball card set of the twentieth century. Mathewson serves not only as its most desirable and elusive component, but also makes his appearance with the all-important rookie designation. One could count on a single hand the Hall of Fame rookies which compete with the Breisch-Williams Mathewson for rarity, and this represents just the third auction block appearance for Heritage in the past fifteen years. Graded SGC 10 Poor 1. The SGC legacy census show just five recorded examples making this just the sixth. It is quite evident why the card is graded poor. The back is a blank variation. Truthfully, the tremendous scarcity of this special offering should dismiss petty condition concerns anyhow. The opportunity to own another rarely arises.
