1888 N321 S.F. Hess Creole Cigarettes "Big" Smith SGC 30 Good 2. What makes baseball such an All-American sport is that while the game originated near the most eastern region of the US, its popularity reached the west coast at the same era. The California League consisted of a mere four teams including the Haverlys which were based in San Francisco. Players from this league were also used to promote what is today among the rarest 19th Century card sets ever produced - the N321 S.F. Hess "Creole Cigarettes" set from 1888. Offered is an attractive card featuring 19-year career minor-leaguer George Hanley. Based on the state of preservation of the blank reverse, the card is graded SGC 30 Good 2. A true rarity from a series that SGC has graded only 85 total cards!

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
