1888 N29 Allen & Ginter The World's Champions-2nd Series Wm. Ewing SGC 86 NM+ 7.5 Pop 1 With One Higher! Of the thirty-three total examples graded by SGC to date, this is the second highest graded card submitted to them with only one higher. With just the slightest variation from the previous year, Allen & Ginter scored again with another terrific issue of sporting champions. Assisting with his fearsome bat Ewing would help earn a World Championship for the New York Giants in the year that this card rolled off the press and found its way into a can of leafy tobacco. Considering this card depicts traces of wear on the corner tips/edges we must assume the rough factory cut as seen along the bottom of the reverse accounts for the technical assessment. There is just one other card submitted that attained a higher grade and we can only hope that card delivers the same visual impact.
