Description

1888 N28 Allen & Ginter Timothy Keefe PSA NM - MT 8 - None Higher. Keefe, known as "Sir Timothy" for his gentlemanly ways, was one of the very best pitchers in the 1800s. He pitched for 14 seasons, mostly in the National League. His best season was in 1888, the year this card was issued, when as a New York Giant he won the pitching Triple Crown by leading in wins - 35, ERA - 1.74, and strikeouts - 335. Keene was also known as "Smiling Jack", perhaps because he won so much. He finished at 342-223 lifetime, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1964. The card features a visually stunning full color lithograph that shows Keefe, gloveless, in the stretch. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. This 1888 Allen & Ginter N28 Tim Keefe card has a NM-MT pop of eleven, with none higher. This card is a chance to add one of the 19th Century's best pitchers on one of the rarest cards.
