    Description

1888-89 N173 Old Judge Cabinet George Van Haltren (#471-1) SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. George Van Haltren is a 19th Century star who has failed to receive the appreciation he deserves. His 17-year career as a pitcher and outfielder came to an end in 1903 appearing in almost 2,000 games and a lifetime .316 batting average. Offered is pose #471-1 Bat at ready, looking at camera. This is a strong example where a couple dimples into the mount edge resulted in a SGC 70 EX+ 5.5 rating. The central image is striking with tremendous details. This is the highest graded example of just three total on the SGC census.
