1887 N284 Buchner Gold Coin Jim O'Rourke (Hands Cupped) PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop One, None Higher. Offered is an 1887 N284 Buchner Gold Coin card featuring HoFer Jim O'Rourke. "Orator" Jim is credited with getting the very first hit of the newly organized National League in April of 1876. The second is that he graduated from Yale Law School and managed to get the New York Giants to pay for his tuition! In 1904, at the ripe old age of 53, O'Rourke went 1-for-4 becoming the oldest man to hit safely in a major league game. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. The highest graded example of just four on the PSA census. A true condition rarity. After almost 500 submissions, there are just three N284 cards graded NM-MT.
