Description

1887 N28 Allen & Ginter Timothy Keefe SGC 86 NM+ 7.5- The Finest SGC Example! One of the game's first 300 game winners, "Smiling Tim" shows off his Hall of Fame form upon this 125-year old issue. Keefe pitched two complete game victories in a single day, allowing just three hits over eighteen innings of work making him a logical inclusion within one of the most gorgeous and collectible Victorian era trading card sets ever produced. The 1964 posthumous Hall of Fame inductee strikes a pitching pose for this early tobacco card, which exhibits mild corner wear, an unusually clean surface and vibrant hues. Most surviving cards from this set are typically plagued by major condition issues. The opportunity to own one that still retains visual appeal that hasn't diminished in the last 125 years is a rare treat. Graded SGC 86 NM+ 7.5, this is the highest graded example from the almost 100 examples submitted to SGC! The front of the card is as good as it gets.
