    1887-90 N172 Old Judge Art Whitney & Dog (#499-1 New York) SGC 60 EX 5. One of the most endearing images of any 19th Century with baseball content is this card featuring Art Whitney and a small, furry friend. For eleven seasons, Whitney played primarily shortstop and third base, but also tried his hand at second base, outfield and pitcher. Offered is pose #499-1 Stooping, Dog with paw on Knee. Caption: A. WHITNEY, 3d B., New Yorks. Grade: SGC 60 EX 5. Copyright: 1888. Photo Quality: Close to Excellent. Based on our research, this is the second highest graded example of this card to come up for auction.
