1886 John Ward Cabinet Photograph by Joseph Wood SGC Authentic. The only known example of this important cabinet photograph! Ward excelled at both shortstop and pitcher during his seventeen-season Major League career, posting the second perfect game in the history of professional baseball in 1880. Off the field, his tremendous influence was felt as he organized the Players' Brotherhood, the first baseball players union, and formed the short-lived Players League in 1890. Assessed "Authentic" due to the reverse being skinned. This one-of-a-kind cabinet photo likewise survives finest condition of the three offered within this auction.Auction Info
