Description

1871 Mort Rogers Photographic Score Card Charles J. Sweasy. Offered is Charles J. Sweasy of the Washington Olympics, card is #27. This is one of the first Mort Rogers scorecards to depict a player with the Washington Club. Sweasy was a member of the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings. His lone season with Washington was in 1871. His stats confirm why you will never see his name on a HoF ballot. His career lasted from 1871 to 1876 and 1878 with Sweasy playing for no less than eight different clubs so he may have lived spring/summers of a suitcase. Like his teammate Allison, this is the only collectible we are aware of that features Sweasy individually. There is a team cabinet card of the 1871 squad with Sweasy. This is currently the only known Mort Rogers score card of Sweasy.
