Description

Signed 1981 Perez-Steele HOF Postcard Earl Averill #147 PSA Authentic, PSA/DNA Authentic Auto. Hall of Fame center fielder Earl Averill played the majority of his career (11 seasons) with the Cleveland Indians. A career .318 batter, Averill could also hit for power (238 home runs). Offered is Averill's 1981 Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcard (#147), which is from the fifth series and crash-numbered on the reverse (01550/10,000). Illustrated beautifully by renowned artist Dick Perez, the postcard includes two separate likenesses of Averill, one in color and one in black and white. This particular example is bolstered by Averill's signature in black marker. Inducted into Cooperstown in 1975, Averill passed away in 1983, so the window of opportunity to get this '81 HOF postcard signed was a short one, which, despite being ever so slightly smeared, makes this a truly coveted autograph. Encapsulated PSA Authentic with a certified PSA/DNA Authentic Auto. One of only seven autographed AUTHENTIC cards with four rated higher.
