Description

Signed 1979 TCMA Ogden A's Rickey Henderson #9 PSA Gem Mint 10, PSA/DNA Auto 10 - Pop Two! Considered the greatest leadoff man in Major League Baseball history, Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson was also the game's greatest base stealer. During his 25-year MLB career, he swiped a total of 1,406 bags, which obliterated Lou Brock's all-time mark of 938. Henderson surpassed Brock's mark on May 1, 1991, and then proceeded to steal another 467 bases over the next 12 seasons. Rickey finished his incredible career in 2003 with a MLB-best 2,295 runs scared and a lifetime batting average of .279.

Offered is a pre-rookie card of baseball's stolen base king from the 1979 TCMA Ogden A's series. Card #9 shows Henderson kneeling with his favorite bat during a minor league photo shoot with the Ogden (Utah) A's. This Gem Mint condition example of the card is further bolstered by Henderson's sought-after signature across the front. He signed the card beautifully in fine-point blue marker. Graded PSA Gem Mint 10 with a certified autograph graded PSA/DNA Auto 10. According to the PSA Pop Report, this is one of only two autographed cards graded GEM MINT.
