1990 Topps Frank Thomas (No Name On Front) #414 BGS Mint 9 - None Higher. Sometimes no matter how hard you try things can go wrong. One of the most famous errors of th 1990's affects the Topps rookie card of future HoFer Frank Thomas who was making his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox. Being released at the time when the "Big Hurt" was just starting to make a name for himself, it seems Topps may have thought facial recognition was enough as the first version of this card was released with "Frank Thomas" appearing in the blue banner. Although there are always going to be printing hiccups, this is a certified variation that is missing an important element of the card.Graded BGS Mint 9. The Beckett census currently shows 110 total examples. One of ten graded MINT with none higher.
