Description
1982 Topps Cal Ripken Jr. Rookie (Orioles Future Stars) #21 PSA Gem Mint 10. Cal Ripken Jr. enjoyed an illustrious career in Major League Baseball that saw him win AL Rookie of the Year honors in 1982, win a pair of AL MVP awards (1983 and '91), and surpass the late, great Lou Gehrig by recording the league's longest most-consecutive-games-played streak with an astounding 2,632. Not surprisingly, "Rip" was inducted into Cooperstown in 2007, in his first year of eligibility. Offered is a 1982 Topps Baltimore Oriole Future Stars card that doubles as Ripken's coveted rookie card. Ripken, a third baseman, is featured front and center, flanked by O's rookie teammates Bob Bonner (shortstop) and Jeff Schneider (pitcher). This example of card #21 from the '82 Topps set is found in immaculate condition with great color, perfect centering, bright white borders, and four razor-sharp corners. Graded PSA Gem Mint 10. Of the more than 40,000 examples found in the PSA Pop Report, this is one of 550 cards graded GEM MINT.View Certification and Population Details from PSA
