    Description

1972 Topps Carlton Fisk - Red Sox Rookies #79 PSA Gem Mint 10 - Pop Five. Broken bones, bruises and contusions were challenges Carlton Fisk had to deal with on a yearly basis. Such is the life for a backstop who earns his keep blocking baseballs, dodging errant bats and having to deal with home plate collisions. They didn't make them tougher than Pudge Fisk, who attributed his brute strength to splitting wood during the off-season. The 1972 Topps card we see here focuses on Boston Red Sox teammates making their Major League debut. Among the trio is Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk who naturally is the highlight of this perfect PSA Gem MT 10 example. A beauty certainly impossible to improve upon. One of five at the Gem MT level from a total population of over 4,000 submissions (top .1%).
