    Description

1972 Puerto Rican League Stickers Mike Schmidt #64 PSA Gem Mint 10 - Pop One, None Higher! Before Mike Schmidt became one of the premier sluggers for the Philadelphia Phillies for 18 seasons he refined his skills in the minor league system for two years. In between seasons, Schmidt played with the Caguas Baseball Club of the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball League for a season of winter ball. It has been said Schmidt found his timing and batting swing in Puerto Rico that would eventually allow him to become a 500 Home Runs Club member and eight-time NL Home Run Leader and three-time MVP award winner. Not just a slugger, he enjoys ten Gold Glove Awards in his trophy case which makes him the runner up for most awards by a third basemen.

It was during his time with the Caguas that this sticker set was issued showcasing 231 players of the Puerto Rican Winter League. Flawless. Graded PSA Gem Mint 10. This is the only sticker to grade a perfect Gem Mint from seventy-eight submissions.
