second most untouchable pitching record in baseball after Cy
Young's 511 victories. His 5,714 strikeout total surpasses his
closest rival in career Ks by the hundreds. This eternal reign was
assured by over a quarter century of blazing fastballs and his
record seven no-hitters, rather definitively establishing Ryan as
the greatest power pitcher in the game's history.The full-bleed black borders of the 1971 Topps issue looked gorgeous straight out of the pack, but the feature served to amplify the slightest edge or corner wear in a way that white borders generously forgive.
