1968 Topps Roberto Clemente #150 PSA Gem Mint 10. Presented is a Topps Gem Mint card of a man considered by many to be the best Latin baseball player of all time. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Roberto Clemente liked the Dodgers. "Brooklyn was a famous team," said Roberto. "I wanted to play for the Dodgers." After Clemente signed with Brooklyn, the Dodgers tried to "hide" Roberto on their 1954 Montreal Royals Triple-A team. That was a mistake, as former Brooklyn general manager Branch Rickey was now the general manager with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he snapped up Clemente in the Rule 5 Draft.

Clemente played his entire 18-year MLB career with the Pirates and was a key player in both their 1960 and 1971 World Series triumphs. Clemente was an all-around player who hit .317 lifetime with 240 home runs. His arm was a howitzer, recording 255 right field assists (MLB all time 2nd), and he won 12 Gold Gloves. Clemente won the first of his four batting titles in 1961 when he hit .351. He was the 1966 NL MVP. Clemente had exactly 3,000 hits. On December 31, 1972, he died in a plane crash as he was on the way to help deliver emergency supplies to earthquake ravaged Nicaragua. He went into the HOF in 1973, the first Latin American and first Caribbean to be inducted.

Here Roberto is depicted looking almost angry in his batting pose - he has said that he liked to play with anger because it made him energized. Note the Pirates' sleeveless jersey. The cards feature a unique "burlap" border. Very rare in grade. Graded PSA Gem Mint 10. One of five graded Gem Mint!
