Description

1967 Topps Bob Clemente #400 PSA Mint 9. The iconic Hall of Fame outfielder Roberto Clemente was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates from the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1954 rule 5 draft. Not a bad choice considering Clemente played for 18 seasons in the Steel City and collected exactly 3,000 hits. Offered is an incredible example of his 1967 Topps card #400. This high quality card carries a PSA Mint 9 assessment, a very tough judgment for this condition sensitive issue but one that will raise no eyebrows. One can only speculate that the minuscule stock imperfection in the lower left reverse is what kept this card from Gem MT status or a "Mint+ 9.5" rating should PSA have included the half grade in their system. From a total population of almost 2,200 submissions, this card ranks in the top 2.5% as one of thirty in Mint with none graded any higher.
