    Description

1966 Topps Sandy Koufax #100 PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. Koufax is notable as one of the outstanding Jewish athletes of his era in American professional sports. His decision not to pitch Game 1 of the 1965 World Series because game day fell on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, garnered national attention as an example of conflict between social pressures and personal beliefs. Issued during Sandy Koufax's last season in 1966, his brilliant pitching career was cut short due to an arthritic elbow. Graded PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. It should come as no surprise that the card displays all of the characteristics inherent in such a high grade. Beautiful colors, ultra-bright clean borders, four sharp corner and perfect registration are all readily apparent. Some may feel this card is slightly under-graded.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
