1964 Topps Tony Conigliaro Rookie #287 PSA NM-MT 8. A cult hero for Red Sox fans since his 1964 rookie season, Conigliaro suffered one of the most gruesome beanings in baseball history, a pitch that shattered his left cheekbone, dislocated his jaw and caused severe damage to his left retina. The gritty outfielder returned to Fenway in 1969 to earn Comeback Player of the Year honors, an award which has since been named for him personally. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Nothing about this card contradicts the PSA assessment. The SMR value is $115.00.
