    Description

1963 Topps Roberto Clemente #540 PSA Mint 9. Just one glance at this card and you can tell why the 1963 Topps series is a hobby classic. The dual portraits inspired by the 1954 and 1956 Topps Baseball series (also classics) issued a decade prior return to inspire a new generation of baseball card collectors. From an era when cards were issued in series, Clemente is a key addition to the scarcer final run appearing on card #540 of the 576-card promotion. With every indication, the card was made yesterday, but in all seriousness over half a century has since passed if that can be believed. The exceptional surfaces and gloss quality, four razor sharp corners all combine for a PSA Mint 9 assessment. Only two of the now over 2,000 PSA submissions have earned a higher rating with thirty-three graded PSA Mint 9. An absolutely stunning display of color and quality undoubtedly worthy of the hobbyist who only wants the finest.
