1963 Topps Pete Rose Rookie #537 Color Separations. Proofing color and registration is an essential part of any printing project. A number of processes have been used including the color overlay or color separation. Offered are the color overlay sheets for card #537 from the 1963 Topps baseball edition which featured a young man named Pete Rose. The bottom layer of card stock is 2-1/2" x 4-7/8," taped to it are thin plastic overlays, one for each of the four process colors. The area showing is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and individual layers show where ink is applied and the semi-transparent nature of the ink reveals how the hues combine visually to give us the final cards we so eagerly collect. A fascinating addition to an advanced Charlie Hustle collection or for the hobbyist who looks at card at a deeper level.
